SKATE CHALLENGE: *FREE GIFTS GUARANTEED TO FIRST 50 SKATERS REGISTERED!! T-shirt orders are being submitted now, so please register early to ensure a shirt! Got
a bucket list? Well this should be on it! This year's skate challenge
will be a long race, circling the Munroe Falls Lake. You will skate over
bridges and hills, and learn from other experienced skaters in the
process. This is a gateway race for all those wanting to start competing
in outdoor skate races/marathons. (We have added a 5K option for those
who asked.) You will also get the chance to have some fun!!! For those
who aren't trying to set land-speed records, come out and have a blast
skating around the park with your favorite Derby skaters while listening
to music from our DJ, or sign up with a friend and wear matching
COSTUMES! (Would love to give a special gift to anyone showing up with a
costume!) The important thing here is that you GET THERE. Half the
battle is showing up at the starting line. To reward those who have the
GUTS TO GET THERE, we will make sure that everyone who preregisters for the race (and shows up) receives a t-shirt.

OUT OF TOWNERS:
If you are looking for a nearby place to stay, we can send you some info on the area and a list of local restaurants close to the park. Also, for those looking for quick/easy/cheap overnight accommodations, try camping at http://stowohio.org/funinstow/silver-springs-campground/ or http://parks.ohiodnr.gov/westbranch. (Silver springs is closer, but West Branch is nicer.) Also, for hotels I would recommend either the Holiday Inn Express (1215 Sanctuary View Dr, Kent, OH 44240) or Comfort Inn (4423 OH-43, Kent, OH 44240 and has a pool). There is also the Kent State University Hotel, which is pretty high class but a little more pricey. It's really close and is inside downtown Kent, which makes it a great idea for staying the weekend and hanging out at the amazing shops/restaurants (215 S Depeyster St, Kent, OH 44240).
Be sure to bring your copy of "The Tommy Chronicles" to collect autographs of skaters that are mentioned within its pages. We will also have available specially designed t-shirts featuring a cartoon from the book with a skating quote. Order yours early! See registration form below to get your copy before they run out!
